LGBTQ+ Student Resource Center
Land Acknowledgement Statement
This land on which we inhabit is physically situated in the original ancestral homelands of the The Wea Peoples of the Miami Tribe of Indiana. The Wea were a Miami-Illinois originally located in western Indiana and part of the larger Illinois Confederation. We pay respect to the Miami Tribe (Delaware, Kickapoo, Miami, Mound Builders, Piankashaw, Potawatomi, Shawnee, and Wea), past, present, and future, and the Wea Peoples continuing presence in the homeland and throughout their historical diaspora.
This calls us to commit to continuing to learn how to be better stewards of the land we inhabit as well. Without them, we would not have access to this gathering and to this dialogue. We take this opportunity to thank and honor the original caretakers of this land.

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning (LGBTQ) Student Resource Center
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning (LGBTQ) Student Resource Center provides resources, services, and programs for students that may have questions pertaining to the lives of LGBT students or students that already identify as LGBT and are looking for a safe space. The center is designed to create a safe, inclusive Indiana State University community regardless of a person’s sexual orientation, gender identity and/or gender expression. The Center will actively collaborate with the Spectrum student organization.
Spectrum is the student-led organization at Indiana State University that exists to unify gender and sexual minorities and their allies. Through programming and community outreach, Spectrum works to strengthen the community and create an environment that fosters acceptance for anyone, regardless of sexuality or gender identity. Spectrum encompasses a broad range of individuals from different backgrounds who are committed to equality. We come from the campus community, area colleges, and the Terre Haute community. If you are interested in joining Spectrum, join us during the academic year Tuesdays at 7 p.m. on the 3rd floor of HMSU. Visit their website http://www2.mikeshiner.com/spectrum/ or email at indstatespectrum@gmail.com for more information or to get involved.
